Defining the problem
Initial problem discovery
One of our designers has medical needs and has personal experience with the frustrations of traveling internationally with her condition. We decided to look into this problem and were immediately overwhelmed with the vast amount of information needed for people with medical needs to travel internationally
So, what is the problem?
Many people with medical conditions experience frustrations when traveling internationally with their conditions, due to customs and or restrictions in foreign countries.
Why does this problem matter?
International traveling with medical conditions can be a stressful and confusing endeavor. The amount of documents needed to get through customs, the language barriers between different countries, and the tedious work to make sure medications are legal in those countries makes planning to travel internationally become more of a chore.
TravelDoc’s mission is to make traveling simpler for those with chronic medical conditions. By storing and translating medical documents, locating area physicians and pharmacies, and informing you on international regulations before you travel, TravelDoc removes the barriers to making traveling accessible again.

Conclusion
Opportunity Statement
Providing travelers a virtual space of organization for medical necessities while keeping the users in the know about rules and regulations of where they are traveling.
The Solution
Our team created an app to make traveling with medication/medical conditions without a hassle, so this app will make it easier to travel with document scanning, medication lists, rules and regulations on medications, and mapped-out emergency services to the specific user.
Usability Testing
Knowing our audience ranges from 18 and up, we user-tested through different iterations of the app to make those changes to really enhance the user experience.
Usability Testing
After doing some user testing from wireframes we realized to narrow down the navigation bar to four navigation keys. One pain point was the size of typeface since this app is for those 18 and up users so we upscaled font usage and made sure readability was still there and cohesive with the brand.

What I learned:
This project was very eye-opening and something my group was very passionate about solving together. I learned a lot about how stressful traveling could be for those who have medical conditions and to get through customs for international travel. It felt really good how design can make a big difference in the world one step at a time.
Further Development:
With more time and resources our group wants to broaden our research, and social media campaign, and enhance our app with smoother animations are the few ways we want to expand our project for a great user experience.
